Varicella Zoster Virus (VZV) Strain: Ellen – CFHI
The prices will be displayed on the checkout.
Varicella Zoster Virus (VZV) is a human Herpes virus (HHV-3) with a diameter of approximately 200 nm. It is an enveloped icosahedral virus that contains a nucleocapsid and double-stranded linear DNA. VZV (Strain: Ellen) is propagated in the CV-1 or MRC-5 cell line.
Heat inactivated culture fluids are sold in 1.0 mL aliquots, and shipped on dry ice. VZV does not always demonstrate distinct CPE in culture. Therefore, VZV culture fluid is assayed by either Tissue Culture Infective Dose (TCID50), or real-time PCR (copies/mL) before being heat inactivated. Please indicate if you prefer TCID50 or PCR quantitation when placing an order. Custom orders are available, including specific volumes and package sizes.
Heat inactivated viral culture fluids are sold as consumable testing materials. The suitability and performance characteristics should be determined by your laboratory for each intended usage. These products are NOT intended for use in the manufacture or processing of injectable products subject to licensure under section 351 of the Public Health Service Act or for any other product intended for administration to humans.
